So often we can be held back and not understand why, we may be aiming for goals and dreams and something just keeps getting in the way or the same situation keeps re-occurring.
If you understand what I’m talking about here then you’ll understand equally how annoying it can be, especially when you seem to be doing all the right thing but something just keeps coming up to get in your way.
Just what is it that causes this?
The answer to this is often quiet simple, it is old worn out limiting beliefs that are stopping us from achieving our goal.
And why?
Well it is most often caused by some event that happened in the past where we have attached a story and subsequent meaning to it, which has then becomes a belief. This belief can either then empower us or limit us and for some time a belief usually will always serve us in some way, often as a form of protection. What then happens is that we continue with this underlying belief even if it no longer serves us, but we hold it to be true, because based on that experience and our perception we really believe it is.
The only thing is now this old worn out belief not only limits us but also affects our perception in many areas of our life and also in our relations with others. In any area we feel limited in some way or where there is recurring issues this is often the case.
After doing The Landmark forum a couple of weekends ago I came to realise some of my own disempowering old beliefs and have decided it’s definitely time to let them go. Most of all is that in the context of today these beliefs are quiet silly and not necessary for me anymore. It is only because they were developed from a young age, that this was how I perceived the world then and then unknowingly held on to it subsequently limiting areas of my life that I’ve been wanting to develop. When I realised this it was super empowering but I also found it humorous how I’d held on to some limiting belief patterns for so long (better to laugh than cry :).
To be held back from something I decided so long ago seems so absurd but we all are doing and have done this for a large majority of our time. We then effectively keep repeating our past in to our future and therefore limiting ourselves and hence why we also get these recurring situations even if we are focusing on something different, the belief will always win somehow.
When we discover our false beliefs and decide to let go of them we can create a whole new possibility rather than repeating old patterns or limitations that are no longer serving us. Its definitely one I’d recommend considering. What old beliefs could be holding you back from your new life of possibility?
I’ve been feeling a real shift recently and I’m not sure if its right, although I’m not really sure if its the right thing to question it either. It seems to be a real perception shift and one that’s making everything seem more together and one, but with the status quo somewhat unusual.
I’ve been aware of this shift for a while now but it has hit me more rapidly in the last few weeks. Throughout this time I’ve been learning to accept hurt and pain as part of experience rather than rejecting it as such.
It’s as though I now see the world and my reality in a way that all is one, emotions, people, experiences, that cannot exist on a purely positive state. There is less judgement over what is good or bad and more acceptance in what is, just as it is, realising deeper that at the core of everything exists pure love and creative energy.
This reality I in part realised around a year ago and now it’s as if its deepening in that I can see it more in the difficult experiences and how they are one with the ultimate cause. In how it’s not possible to have the good without the bad, It is the same with emotions, its so easy to label them and say ‘I don’t want to feel this’, but in reality it just is and without one we may not have the others.
I know where I want to be and that is to be coming from a place of love and creativity in all I do, but its becoming more and more apparent that where there is love , there is creation and within this there is also pain and possible destruction but out of this comes further creation and love, it is all one.
Without judging this experience too much it appears from this perspective as though everything at the core is ultimately together as one, and that we are all co-existent and as part of the journey of life together, not to be in opposition with each other. There are no labels, all that is just is and when we are in alignment with creative energy or love then we will automatically operate at our highest purpose and highest self.
When we see ourselves as separate in any way or begin labelling people and situations we effectively detatch ourselves from this force and begin to lose recognition with it.
At times I am questioning this perception and becoming confused with it, finding myself saying, is this right or is it naïve or is it part of the new way of seeing things, a new world? But then in doing this I begin judging, labelling and detaching again so for now I have to trust in this new reality and flow with it. Perhaps all will become clearer in the newness of things or maybe it doesn’t need to?
Right now Prince Ea’s Rap ‘The World is Ending’ is really resonating with me, check it out if you haven’t seen it before, its an awakening in itself. 🙂 Until next time, lots of love and light to you ❤
Love exists at the core of everything, of everyone. Know and trust in this and that’s all you see, no matter what happens.
Our world is becoming more fast paced by the minute and it seems along with the consumerist culture of products and pleasures, that people and relationships are being treated in this way more frequently too. In dating culture it has become very obvious, from how we can pick and choose someone based upon their appearance alone to how many just wont stick around with someone any more if they don’t quiet meet the checklist.
In some ways I think this may be a positive but it can also go too far. It can occur in friendships as well as relationships, I’ve recently had personal experience of this with such people and situations where after making one mistake or doing one thing that doesn’t meet their needs alone, they will just drop you like a ton of weight.
It is understandable if situations occur where someone goes too far, we need to be clear with them to not do the same again. However we are all only human and where is the depth and realness when people are marked off a checklist and treat like a consumer product. The deepest and best relationships come when we truly see the person and love and accept them just the same. This is how we can be with family and those closest to us, to have truly valuable lasting real-ationships, we need to see others as their whole self too. Unless of course we are happy with a surface relationship that has no passion, depth or bond.
Maybe products today are not made to last but as people we are not made to be thrown away, we are here to love and be loved as a whole and as we are. This is the kind of relationships I now seek, ones that are real, where others are themselves and I can be too. Because of this I know I too have to be vulnerable and drop my checklist, choosing to see anyone I know and meet as whole person worthy of love and acceptance no matter what.
As for the actual products in my life I always try to keep them as long as I can and recycle (but I am not so attached to them). The people that are in and come into our lives are not material objects but feeling beings, so in knowing this myself I choose to be open and receptive to this, to all the beauty in each person and not just someone who is there to tick my list. I would hope in this I can bring far more to others and that the relationships in my life will be far more real and enriching. As for the consumerists I’ll let them continue shopping 🙂
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this too, have any of you experienced this or is it something you’ve noticed happening? Do you think it can be a positive at all or purely a negative for our relationships and in how we treat people?
Thank you for all your realness, loving and feedback as always 🙂
What does it mean to live at the cause? This is something of a realisation that came recently when I discovered that I had become somewhat increasingly focused on the level of effect in my life rather than cause. The gap in perspective of both cause and effect can in reality seem so small but at the same time it is huge, cause and effect are in fact one, both created in a cyclical effect as much of energy is. The main difference between them is where your focus is,whether it exists in the present or in the future, if it is in the past you are also focused on effect. That’s all it is, a change in perception, but that small change in perception can create massive differences for ourselves and others.
If you are an ambitious or success driven person as many of us are then it is easy to become absorbed in the level of effect and therefore push and stretch yourself in the now to achieve where it is you want to be. This may seem perfectly fine but it is this space where fear, stress and worry often exist. At the cause all that exists is peace and intention, intention may be there but once focused on it is let go of and the process is then in faith. To hold on to it is to force or control and therefore mistrust in yourself and the process and to then be out of alignment with the present moment.
Although this sounds deep, it is in fact a paradox because it is very simple when we see it in the now , all that exists in the now is already here and available to us we only have to set our intention and choose to focus on it. We do not hold on to the future because it is not here yet and where we exist is in the now solely and completely. Only we choose where our focus goes and on which part of life we choose to allow it to, this is then what we experience.
The act of taking responsibility is another sole part of living at the cause because we are then choosing to live with complete awareness that ‘I am living in the now and choosing which actions to take based on my intentions and my purpose, not with the past or the future’. You are the sole creator of your life and by living at the cause you are choosing to accept and acknowledge the power that exists within your life to live in this way. By looking to others to create our lives or blaming in anyway we are giving this power away, not just the power of where we are now but the power that exists within us to create positive change.
The alternative looks more like this , ‘if I am living at the effect I am relating to my environment as a separate entity to myself therefore I am reliant on it to provide me with what I need and also from others. I am looking at what am I receiving, what exists in my life , what will I get for all this I am doing.’ It may appear logical to think in this way but this is a discord as there I would ultimately be mistrusting the process and myself as a creator existing in the here and now. I would be distrusting the process therefore creating discord between my focus/intention and the effect.
It is probably fair to suggest that many of us live at both levels and perhaps more often at the level of effect, focusing on where we want to go, where we want to be, what we need or don’t have thus creating much of the stress within and competition in society. It is also clear to see those who live solely at the level of cause and who are therefore in the present moment, fully aware of the energy of creation that exists within them, some clear examples would be Gandhi, The Dalai Lama and Mother Theresa. In fact any of the outstanding characters you can think of that have made or are making a huge difference in the world are doing this and have done this because they are living with the full awareness of their creational energy and they are living at the cause with their intention and full faith in themselves and the environment as one.
Ultimately living at the cause is where I desire to be in the now with the intention to make a positive difference to as many people as possible and after the realisation of how it is to become focused at the effect and how disempowering this state of living can be, I encourage you all to choose to live at the cause of your own lives and realise what amazing creators you really are if you don’t do this already. In every moment consider am I reacting or creating.. what place am I coming from..what is the cause I wish to live by.
We are all creators and can choose how to benefit this world today and everyday to make a real difference, we all can do this in our own unique way, we all have gifts to give. If we choose to live at effect and ignore who we are and what we can do now then we distrust in ourselves and the process therefore giving our power away. Which do you choose?
