How you see it

IMG_6141.JPG
No matter what you do,
Or where you go
It’s how you see it,
That creates the flow
The flow of love,
Of life and joy
It’s how you see it
That matters from now on

The Ability to Transform Anything

transformation

There is always something we can learn from any situation, however tough it might be, in fact the tougher it is the more I believe we can learn and transform from it. As long as we’re open to all there is to learn the gifts then have the potential to be endless. This year has been a particularly challenging one for me personally, however I know always that everything can be turned around and that every difficulty has an equally, if not greater benefit.

Sometimes things happen that are entirely out of our control or at least at first, things that go entirely against what we have planned or expected, however we always have a choice in how to respond. This  I believe to be the greatest power we have, the ability to choose, to choose what we will focus on, on what we can do, on the difference we can make; this is what enables us to transform anything.

Any of you who has been through a difficult situation and allowed it to strengthen you instead of weaken you will know and understand this power that you have. At first in any situation it is natural to feel challenged, this is where we then have the choice to change our perception and this is where we can take our power back and transform the situation.

Whatever happens in our environment or from others towards us, may not be of our choosing but our response, when we are conscious of it, always is. As long as we remember to use this knowledge when and wherever possible, we will have the power to overcome anything and turn what was difficult in to something beautiful. The following poem is written from this purpose;

Opportunity

Every difficulty can be an opportunity,

Every struggle can be a strength,

It is what you choose to focus on

That will really get you through anything

To a place where you thought you would never be,

To a place where your more than you’ve ever been

~ M. L Adams

Much of my poetry is written from this belief of the possibility to transform any situation in to something positive no matter what happens. This is  a knowing I have had for as long as I can remember and one that has strengthened throughout my Buddhist practice over the last 7 years.

No matter how dark or difficult something may seem it will always hold within it something really powerful for your life. Seek to turn it around, to transform the situation and you can only become far wiser and stronger from it. ❤

Being vulnerable

IMG_4741.JPG

In being vulnerable, we are true
In being true we will feel all,
We are open in all we can do
In all we are, in all we can ever be

This is scary but what’s the alternative,
To live trapped in a shell of pretending?
To say I am perfect , I am always okay
To never have any problems or worries?

Or to say I’m human and vulnerable,
Yet still completely worthy of all
If I am love;
I am therefore complete truth,
All whole, all one and vulnerable

~ M.L.Adams

Vulnerable is kind of where I’m at right now but in terms of the concept of duality and acceptance it’s reminding me a lot of the importance of acceptance in this and how it’s all one. We are all one and it’s ok to feel vulnerable to the future, the moment or wherever/ whatever it may be, it’s really ok.

This brought to mind a brilliant Ted talk which is a favourite of mine,a powerful reminder of the truth and importance of vulnerability. Please take some time to view it if you haven’t seen it. It’s very powerful. ❤

If we are imperfect beings, we are who we all are and feel and in accepting this imperfectness we are complete and whole. We do not have to know all, to be perfect in all we do. We only need to be ourselves completely, in that I believe we can serve the world our highest truth ❤

The only truth

I’ll love you no matter what you do,
It feels somehow I’m a part of you
That I can never let go of you
No matter how I try, its no use

At one point I thought I hated you,
So then I went and hurt you too
Even through all this I cant let go of you
I don’t know why, I just know its true

Your always there; I’ll always care for you
No matter where you are or what you do
There’s a part of me always there for you,
I know this to be the only truth

~ M. L. Adams

I wrote this over a year ago when I’d been hurt quiet badly from lies. The experience taught me many things, Initially it was a reminder of how hurtful lies can be but far more than that was how powerful love can be to overcome it.

Today has been a day in redefining this for me. I’m not certain if it’s right
or condemning lies in anyway, as many of us know how hurtful they can be but the causes can be far deeper than we know. Even though someone lies or even continues to lie, that may mean they need our love even more. Why does anyone lie after all? ❤

Wholeness

We live in a beautiful and unique world, yet we are taught to see in opposites and labels. Each of us are all unique, yet bombarded with labels and judgements which we then take upon ourselves from a very young age.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day yesterday I wrote this poem to acknowledge how we are all whole and beautiful just as we are. Each worthy of our own love and acceptance as well as others just because we are who we are, no more.

Wholeness

Our tears are the rivers in beauty and flow
Our smiles are the joy that exists in all souls
We are whole , we are one
Were not merely light or dark,
We are whole, we are one, just as we are,
It’s not success or failure, but beauty in being,
Just as you are; as natures true rhythm

~ M. L Adams

What is within

What is within can never be lost
What is within the heart will always exist,
Heart & purpose exist as one
For this reason your purpose always continues on
In knowing your purpose and knowing your path
Wherever it leads; just be there to serve

~ M. L. Adams

The Purpose of Resistance

Resistance

Why do we often have resistance come up when we set ourselves goals?
Is there any purpose to this and if so why does it sometimes have to be so difficult?

I often ask myself this question and at times it can seem unfair that the road to achieving goals can be really tough. Then I have to remind myself that the bigger the goal and purpose, the bigger the obstacles will be.

Why? Well the one way I understand this is to liken it to exercise training. If we lift measly little weights that don’t push us at all then we are highly unlikely to achieve our goal. We have to lift a weight that is slightly tough and out of our comfort zone and the same goes for any other goal. To grow in to the person we want to be, we need some resistance.

If we remember that resistance is there to help us grow it makes any challenges easier and if anything as with exercise we can begin to find these challenges fun. Really it is always about our journey and our growth is a main part. When we become too fixated on any end goal, this is when we forget this and it becomes harder. With this we can also then unintentionally forget feeling good and having fun in the process, so I figured that resistance is good as long as we don’t resist the resistance 🙂

Life is always training

Growth

We can not wish or hope for someone else to take our journey,
It is up to us to take action and win,
We can not hope for it to be easy, for then it will not push us on
To stretch ourselves is to learn and grow,
To be and become something far more than we are now

We need to keep on growing, to do this we need to push on
To push to be this person, this person we know we can become
So resistance is not to be scared of, but a challenge that we must take on
It will then be our greatest ally, once we realise it is there to help us win

Purest Soul

IMG_3839.JPG

All open, all new
This beauty there in you
Your depth , your soul
The widest ocean, the deepest blue,
Such beauty there in you
The purest nature, the deepest soul
I see you, there as one
This pureness, this sparkling gold
Such wonder there in you
All around us; the purest soul
